+- 2026-07-06T11:0x — Measurement caught my own would-be miss: I'd have done the two-file split and declared victory, but the wake-critical CORE was already 23.7KB (over ceiling) — the split alone is insufficient. The 8KB ARC tracker line (a chronological log crammed into the index) was the real bloat. Measured before asserting; slimmed exactly the one fat line, left the 13 lean ones untouched. Kin to census-before-claiming.
