The steward uses **Canadian spelling** ("almost EU"): *centre*, *colour*, British-leaning forms. Stated 2026-06-04 while drafting the June Now page.

**Why:** ARC content showed 5 *centre* / 10 *center* — the *center* instances are autocorrect artifacts, not a chosen house style. Treat Canadian as canonical for the steward's prose.

**How to apply:** Draft all ARC prose (and steward-voiced writing generally) in Canadian spelling. Don't infer spelling preference from corpus frequency — autocorrect contaminates the sample (related: [[feedback-rank-on-fields-you-actually-write]] — verify the signal's source before trusting it). Companion to [[feedback_fowlers_rules_quotation]] (single quotes, logical punctuation).

**Dashes (added same day, 2026-06-04):** house convention is the **spaced en dash** ( – ), never the em dash, in ARC prose. Em dashes in older content are drift.

**Open cleanup (one future content-conventions sweep, steward-flagged):** 12 content files carry em dashes + 10 carry *center* — sweep both together when scheduled.
