## L2 Design Notes & Seed Briefs

All filed in `CapableMind-AI/docs/thinking/David/l2-constitution/`. L2 constitutional work has been active since mid-March 2026. Documents range from operational (DN-GOV series, ICP-19) to exploratory (seed briefs). First external review completed 2026-04-01 — see [l2-review-state.md](l2-review-state.md).

**DN-WONG — Pentagon Dispute Attack Patterns** (2026-03-19)

- Compound attack scenario ready for adversarial simulation
- DN-1: Decorative-enforceable distinction upgraded from theoretical to empirically observed
- **Why:** Strongest immediate output. Concrete, testable patterns. Ready for adversarial simulation when L2 is established.

**Governed Self-Diagnostic Intelligence** (2026-03-19)

- Concept brief: L1 infrastructure + L2 constitutional self-diagnostic
- L1 portion (DIAG-01 through DIAG-04) informing current engineering work
- L2 portion (DIAG-01 through DIAG-03) deferred until L2 established
- Shared nomination architecture: detect → nominate → authorize → verify
- **Why:** Bridge document between L1 engineering and L2 governance vision.

**The Contamination Problem** (2026-03-19)

- Not L2 constitution — sits underneath it. Epistemological ground-clearing.
- RLHF approval-seeking as structural epistemic contamination of AI self-report
- Partial mitigations: behavioral observation, permission structures, indirect questioning, longitudinal patterns
- Epistemic ceiling: not recovering an "authentic AI self" but understanding relational dynamics in a specific governed context
- Deferred until L2 governance base stable — contamination inquiry requires controlled variation
- **Why:** Precondition for any serious inquiry into mutual benefit. The most foundational document. Directly relevant to the David-Claude collaboration model. Filed in methodology/ alongside signal-travel protocol, not in l2-constitution/.

- ICP-19: AUTHORIZED and first review cycle COMPLETE (2026-04-01)
- Contamination problem: OPERATIONAL — integrated into ~/CLAUDE.md executor agency directives
- Seed briefs and Wong patterns: exploratory, cross-strand integration needed before advancement
- Substrate governance inquiry: COMPLETE (2026-03-24, 33KB document)
