(#3) figure `overflow-x:auto` was the scroll source → fixed scroll but still padded. **Correct model (only reached by reading the full ancestor chain): the 100vw+negative-margin burst must pass UNCLIPPED through EVERY ancestor; there were TWO clips at ≤767px — `<figure>` (overflow-x:auto, clip+scroll) AND `.wrapper/.page-content/main` (overflow-x:hidden, clip-only). Both must open together; either alone fails (figure-only=padded; wrapper-only=padded+scroll). Wrapper-release is safe ONLY once figure scroll-source removed.** Fix lives in `_utilities.scss`, scoped `body.glimpse-page` + `.glimpse figure`, mobile-only. Verified on steward's phone. Lesson (thrice today): read rendered output / full DOM chain BEFORE asserting a CSS causal mechanism; a layout bug with two symptoms often has two causes.
