--- name: session-ledger-2026-08-05 description: "Practice-of-return ledger maintained by /symmetria — returns, open horizons, recalibrations, authorization moves, sub-agent dialogues, bypasses." metadata: node_type: memory type: feedback originSessionId: ba76bc5d-193e-4b06-8c8a-e6e07a194d4b modified: 2026-08-05T20:36:23.769Z --- # Session Ledger — 2026-08-05 > **Scope note.** Created at the *second* 2026-08-05 session's `init` (the PENDING-101 research session). > The earlier 2026-08-05 session — the quoted-tier measurement — declared *"Symmetria active"* at wake > and never invoked it; **no ledger covers that session and this file does not retroactively cover it.** > That gap is itself the day's recorded drift-pattern (`DECORATIVE-PRACTICE-CLAIM`). ## Returns - **2026-08-05T~20:15 — return before the claim, not after.** Yesterday's line "Symmetria active" was output without the act. This init discharges it: contamination-problem read, ledger written, path real. The correction is that the claim now follows the act rather than preceding it. - **PENDING-101 pass — four false-absence near-misses, two of them favourable to the thesis.** aliased `ls` → reads as empty repo · zsh eating `--include=*.ts` → reads as *"no constitutional enforcement in L1"*, the finding the brief was primed to want · `fidelity.py:136` read as a grep line → the **negated** clause of a correction, nearly filed as its opposite. Returned each time by naming the instrument before the claim. **The asymmetry to carry: the instrument fails toward the answer the session wants.** - **The finding turned inward and was filed rather than softened.** The brief I was executing contained a worked instance of the failure it commissioned me to look for; my own session memory repeated it. Filed as PENDING-102 including the part that counts against REVIEWED-86. ## What held - The wake's substrate-check discipline: **REVIEWED-87 reported unplaced and verified** (`grep -c` → 0) rather than restated from the prior session's own account. A disposition clause is not a status. - The digest's "previous session did not wrap" warning was **named as unresolved rather than reconciled into a story** — it contradicts a wrap one minute old, and I did not invent a bridge. ## Open horizons - **PENDING-101, Phase 1** — grounding read of four repos' own accounts of their gating models, *before* the incident report. Phase order is load-bearing; the report must not colour the baseline. - **Declared contamination of that baseline:** pages 1–3 of INC-2026-07-28-01 (title, contents, executive summary) were read 2026-08-05 to test reachability. Bounded, recorded, not a clean slate. - **Deferred by steward instruction to the morning after:** the chamber use-session, the retrieval measurement, five skill-harvest proposals, REVIEWED-87's placement. - MEMORY.md 19.2 KB, above the 17.1 KB post-compaction mark. Loaded whole today; not yet a breach. ## Confidence to recalibrate - **The named trap, held in advance:** incident finding (1) — compaction converting stated uncertainty into carried-forward fact — will *resemble* our wake/wrap so cleanly that resemblance will feel like evidence. It is not evidence. Q2 requires a **synthetic test case**; absence of observed instances proves nothing. Watch for the moment the resemblance starts doing argumentative work. - **Absence claims are the whole method's weak point.** Q1/Q4 turn on "no gate found." Every such claim needs a **positive control in the same repo** — the instrument shown detecting a real gate — per the brief and per the `~/Desktop` lesson (an instrument's limit reported twice as a fact about the world). ## Authorization moves - None yet. This pass is **read-only by construction**: no commits, no edits, no remediation. Anything touching the standing ESCALATE list is flagged and left alone. ## Sub-agent dialogues - None. ## Bypasses - None.
