David F Glidden 8a6e178da2 session 2026-08-14: PENDING-134 closed (REVIEWED-121 placed + executed); PENDING-137/138/139 + PENDING-89 docket filed
Session record, ledger, index rotation and KG appends for the day PENDING-134
closed end-to-end. The finding worth carrying: a verification control passed
truthfully and licensed a false claim, because its subject was transcription
while the claim was an inference over the quoted rows.

Index: 2026-08-13 Active Session demoted to MEMORY-reference.md on promote;
MEMORY.md 18,945 bytes against the measured 24,400 limit.

⚠ Steward owes on resume: place REVIEWED-121 — AMENDMENT 1 (draft in the
transcript, conformed to the one heading form the register check can see).
Next session deliberately elsewhere and lighter, by steward direction.

Session Ledger — 2026-08-14

Returns

  • 2026-08-14T~09:40 — the digest's alarm is a derived label; the file is the substrate. The wake digest asserted PREVIOUS SESSION DID NOT WRAP and told me to "expect no record of what that session did." Read the file instead of the alarm: the wrap record exists, is complete, and names every commit of that session (e51e30d, de1c34b, d411034, 92d5ad2) except its own wrap commit e90c334. The transcript continued ~10 min past the wrap — the wrapped-then- continued case. False alarm. Second false alarm in three firings of a two-valued detector over three cases, which the 08-13 wrap had already flagged as a watch item. Family: claim-from-derived-artifact-when-the-substrate-is-checkable (§3).

What held

  • Substrate-checking before listing anything as outstanding. REVIEWED-121 grepped for and absent ⇒ PENDING-134 genuinely unruled (verified, not inferred from the wrap's say-so). No 08-10/11/12 session file ⇒ the owed wrap record is genuinely still owed (verified). No commits anywhere since 21:28 ⇒ "nothing changed" is a censused claim, not an impression.

  • Items I could NOT verify were marked unverified rather than stated flat: the 41 S2 skill-harvest rows (register-stated only), and whether the steward restarted the MCP client (that server serves the jurist's client, not mine — unreachable from here, said so).

  • 2026-08-14 — grounding the package found two arguments the filed item does not carry, and one cuts against it. Reading §5's Direction/Exercised-by columns beside §6.2's stratum-B definition showed four of five admitted modes are false-reject modes routed to gold, while F4 is false-accept and routed to negatives — the counter-argument is stronger than PENDING-134 presents it. Then §7.4(i) read beside §6.2 showed the design's remedy for F4 is a provenance join at Tier-1, not a claim-side reading — so the doctrine may be substituting for the unbuilt fence. Both filed as gate questions (Q2's honesty note, Q4), neither resolved. This is the grounding-pass rule firing: ground in two passes, and expect the omissions to cut against your own case.

  • 2026-08-14 — three transcription drifts caught by checking my own quotes against the substrate. (1) An elision in REVIEWED-116 pt 4 that removed "and L926 remains unmarked" — a clause cutting AGAINST this package; restored whole and the elision named in the text. (2) Emphasis silently added to a sentence inside a block labelled "reproduced in full". (3) "this session" → a date, likewise unmarked. Fixed, and the label now states exactly what was changed. A "reproduced in full" claim is checkable and was not true; the script that checks it took two minutes.

  • 2026-08-14 — the jurist caught a false "verified" claim in my package, and my control could not have caught it. IV.1 asserted "F10 is the only §5 row containing an explicit stratum-B admission clause" and marked it verified. Three rows carry one (F3, F7, F10) — and F3 and F7 are quoted with those clauses intact in my own I.2, and reproduced as "stratum-B gold" in my own IV.2 table one page later. My verification script tested whether quotes were present; the claim was an inference over the rows. The control was structurally incapable of testing the defect class, and its pass is what licensed the false sentence. Re-censused by mechanism: F3/F7/F10 confirmed. ⚠ Also missed the cell-constant D-1 decision at the HEAD of v2-stratum-tags.yaml — the same file I read for III.5's counts — where the narrowing sits directly beneath a quotation of the §6.2 text it narrows.

Open horizons

  • The literal question inherited from 08-13: are control sets a regression net, not a discovery net? Census the last ~10 sessions, classify each instrument defect by (a) own controls, (b) executor re-check, (c) human challenge. Self-contained, checkable, executor-shaped.
  • H3's standing consequence still needs to become a field or a check, not a memory: any recall figure from the fr fixture carries a note that stratum membership was amended post-hoc 2026-08-10.
  • The wrap_inside detector: two-valued over three cases, now with 2 false alarms in 3 firings. Same shape the fleet's three-valued exits already fixed once (REVIEWED-104/108).

Confidence to recalibrate

  • Holding count-by-subtraction-not-enumeration (banked 08-13) in front: the fr cell close is all counts and ratios, and that error entered twice by subtraction — P7's and mine, same session.

Authorization moves

  • REVIEWED-121 PLACED and AUTHORIZED (~/REVIEWED.md L1777) — the whose-proposition test ratified narrowly, conditioned on PENDING-131 (c) remaining sought. Read from the FILE, not the relay: the placed entry carries three things the relayed copy did not — point 9's tail, a sentence added to the ratified doctrine ("The refusable half does not satisfy §7.4(i)"), and a disposition gating the ratio on PENDING-137 as well. The banked rule fired and changed the work, not just a citation.
  • PENDING-137 filed (cell-constant narrowing, routed to the jurist by REVIEWED-121 pt 2).
  • PENDING-89 docket entry filed — one instance, direction named, countervailing evidence beside it.
  • Executed corpus/v2-stratum-tags.yaml two declared fields (5425414, tagged REVIEWED-121). Fleet 9/285 green; gold_intersection selftest 5/5 with its live 48-region control.
  • ⚠ REVIEWED.md deliberately left unstaged — the steward's placement. The unscoped-git-add-in-dotfiles pattern banked yesterday fired correctly today.

What I found while executing, and it is not in any ruling

  • The defeater cannot ever fire on this cell, and I declared that rather than filling the field. REVIEWED-121 pt 7 replaces reader-independence with ORDER-independence: a disposition recorded before the doctrine is consulted. For all eleven inherited spans that moment is past and unrecoverable — the doctrine is ratified and known. Back-filling would record a post-doctrine judgment in a field whose whole evidential value is preceding one: self-confirming, the exact shape R0's first validator was caught by — it computed each region's fingerprint from the live file and compared it to itself, reporting all 322 regions verified. Landed as defeater_has_ever_been_exercisable: false — not "not yet defeated". ⚠ CITATION CORRECTED at wrap. This entry first cited that guard as test_legacy_indices_are_not_self_verified. No such function exists — the name occurs once repo-wide, in a docstring at tests/test_reading_index.py:23. The jurist raised it as uncitable; it was worse. Real checks: L128, L130, and the positive control at L281. Fixed in the substrate at 966168b; fixed here because a ledger is a durable record too.
