David F GliddenandClaude Opus 4.7 119285cf43 claude: back up custom skills, memory, and settings with symlink pattern 
The ~/.claude/ directory was previously local-only — a machine wipe
would have lost the accumulated memory, custom skills, and settings.
This commit moves the durable parts into dotfiles with the same
symlink-to-home pattern used for CLAUDE.md, PENDING.md, REVIEWED.md,
and L2-BOOTSTRAP.md.

Preserved (symlinked from ~/.claude/* into here):
  skills/audit/              — thinking-folder drift scanner
  skills/symmetria/          — practice-of-return discipline
  skills/vault-update-people/ — Obsidian People-file maintainer
  skills/wake-up/            — session restoration
  skills/wrap-up/            — session state capture
  memory/                    — 55+ memory files (MEMORY.md, sessions,
                               ledgers, project state, feedback, etc.)
  settings/settings.json     — user preferences (hooks, flags, no secrets)

Deliberately NOT backed up:
  settings.local.json   — contains operational secrets (HF_TOKEN,
                           SSH password in expect scripts); by naming
                           convention, *.local.* is not synced.
                           Needs separate review and probable rotation.
  sessions/, history.jsonl, caches, telemetry — ephemeral
  plugins/, marketplace skills and agents — reinstallable

The working copies at ~/.claude/skills/* and
~/.claude/projects/-Users-davidglidden/memory are symlinks into this
directory, so every write flows here automatically. install.sh
recreates the symlinks on a fresh machine.

FOLLOW-ON (flagged, not in this commit):
  settings.local.json contains a HuggingFace token and an SSH password
  as plaintext strings inside allowed Bash command patterns. These
  should be rotated and moved to secure storage (keychain / pass /
  env file outside the settings file).

Claude Code Memory

CapableMind L1 (BMF)

  • Storage migration: SurrealDB → SQLite+LanceDB COMPLETE + bottlenecks fixed + RECALL VALIDATED — branch trial/storage-sqlite-lance, 30 commits ahead of main, HEAD 4ef8f5b. All 13 modules + factory + meld + reconciliations + graduation + lifecycle wiring ported. Plus 5 bottleneck fixes shipped 2026-04-15 (#154 entity persist transaction wrap, #155 HNSW build, #156 Ollama keep_alive, #157 LanceDB compaction, #158 cosine distance formula). Recall live-tested on real vault data: sub-second response, confidence 1.0 on top match, all 4 fixes confirmed working end-to-end.   • End-of-pass artifact: ~/_Dev/CapableMind-AI/docs/thinking/David/l1-reliability/2026-04-14-migration-completion-pass.md
  • Decision: better-sqlite3 (relational) + LanceDB (vector+FTS). Benchmarked with NFCorpus/BEIR. SurrealDB had ZERO recall.
  • Amendments 58-61 shipped by Seb. Pairing active (peer-sysops-david).
  • Summarizer: BM_LOCAL_MODEL=qwen3.5:4b. Teacher OFF (no ANTHROPIC_API_KEY).
  • Steward set up fresh data dir for vault ingestion test: ~/.capablemind/data/mindfabric-00/ empty; old data preserved at mindfabric-00.surreal-backup-20260414-142358.

  • bmf-summarizer-contract.md — deferred refactor: summarizer is coupled to local_files observation shape; most connectors fell through silently (fixed structurally in storage-migration PR). Open [PROPOSAL] for connector-agnostic contract.

L2 Constitutional State (2026-04-02)

  • 18 invariants: I1-I14 + Cluster A (I15/I16/I17) + ICP-19. AF-7 CLOSED. GOV-05/06 LIFTED.
  • ICP-19 first review: 9 of 13 findings RESOLVED. L2 assessed as alpha. 4 remaining (design/long-horizon).
  • Key decisions made: Stratified Amendment Protocol (Option C), Constitutive Seam Position C, Consolidation degradation protocol, invariant selection criteria codified, DEGRADE vocabulary resolved, enforcement_status field defined.
  • 4 new canonical documents: invariant-selection-criteria, stratified-amendment-protocol, consolidation-engine-degradation-protocol, constitutive-seam-boundary-governance-position.
  • External Auditor — referred to only as "the External Auditor" in all documents. Name not to appear in constitutional documents, design notes, governance records, or session outputs.
  • Cluster B (I18-I20) and v0.5 cycle DEFERRED until remaining findings addressed.

Chamber Prototype

  • Phase 1 COMPLETE (2026-03-27), Phase 2 COMPLETE (2026-03-28). Phase 2 human_notes pending.
  • Phase 3 PARKED — not blocking L2. ARN + Pirkei Avot in library. BMF server UP but replay throughput too slow for usable recall. Training flywheel paused (no teacher).
  • Kingdom: Traditionis — chain of transmission. First new Kingdom.

Chamber Library & Braid Texts

Key Decisions

  • SurrealDB → SQLite+LanceDB — benchmarked, decided 2026-04-13. SurrealDB had zero recall (upstream bugs). SQLite for relational, LanceDB for vector+FTS. Scale-ready (HNSW O(log n), Tantivy BM25). David rejected any type escape — prime directive applies.
  • Effect-TS proposed as L1 substrate — typed errors, structured concurrency, Layers for DI, supervised fibers, built-in tracing. Chosen over neverthrow because team is scaling. Needs Seb's buy-in.
  • UCE/CIE deprecated — L2 supersedes it
  • ARC becomes renderer of Chamber output
  • Constitutional stabilization, not automation of recognition (DN-GOV-08)
  • Counter-norm on inherited legitimacy (DN-GOV-07)
  • Stratified amendment: hardening easy to do, hard to undo (F-2 Option C)
