• 2026-09-11T wake — Paired each null substrate check with a positive control before calling an item unbuilt. tick_id|reason_category → 0 hits in both Tarbuckle scripts, with def log_event → 1 in the same file; PENDING-139(b) phrases → 0, with RE_HEAD_LINE → 3. Yesterday's three trusted nulls were the reason. ⚠ 139(b)'s is a phrase-grep: it establishes the phrases are absent, not that no equivalent logic exists.

• 2026-09-11T wake — The daybook cue fired on the wake's first read-only command and said 'the write already succeeded'. Nothing had been written. Not acted on (the wake reads, doesn't write); named in the briefing as skill-harvest B's instruction/artifact disagreement in a new form — the cue now misdescribes its own trigger.

• 2026-09-11T — Stamped the deferral only after reading the ruling against its own discriminator, not from the needle firing. Verified: drift-check 5 tracked / none due / 5 RESOLVED, no dangling pointer; exact string 1, negative control 0. ⚠ The prose-deferral counter moved 58→59 from the stamp's own wording — it counts the word, as it says it does.

• 2026-09-11T — A fourth null that was a fact about the query, caught before reporting. Transcript search for the literal tarbuckle-body.py --selftest found nothing on 09-09/09-10; the runs were a loop over all five selftests and a mutant copy of the body, neither of which spells it. Re-queried by time window: both found, 3 s and 1 s before the stray ticks.

• 2026-09-11T — Challenged my own prior framing. PENDING-182's open design point (my draft, 09-10) rested on 'two panes drawing in the same minute'. 746 ticks: no same-second fires. The id's question is judgment 2's join, not the panes'.

• 2026-09-11T — A census I built failed its own negative control, and I discarded it rather than read it. Live-vs-test tick by 'invocation record within 2 s': the known stray at 18:52:40 has one too — the status line renders every few seconds during active work. Its '1 non-live' is unestablished. The finding it leaves: nothing in a tick record distinguishes live from test. Magnitude reported as a floor of two.

Cited for diagnosis, lesson re-derived: which half carries the purpose. Surfaced to the steward, not smoothed.

It finds the form where a ruling names the item; instance 1's form (never named) is invisible to it by construction. Reported as a floor. PENDING-147 candidate read in full before classifying — false positive.

• 2026-09-11T — File-before-build honoured in commit order: 2af4335 filing → 37a2c86 fix. Tests read as a table against expectations stated before the run; all matched. The pre-fix file's 32/32 green while writing live is now on record.

• 2026-09-11T — Looked at the page image instead of trusting the text layer, and it overturned an assumption: the '?' music signs are in the source PDF itself, not introduced by the conversion. Recovered from Montgomery's list of the same Alfonso markings. Two cross-source discrepancies (no. 31 term; no. 27a) recorded unreconciled rather than picked.

Against the chamber MD alone, 13 matched and 5 missed only because of the conversion's documented quotation-mark damage — tested by stripping quote marks, with a one-word-altered negative control. • Verified this wake: N-now = 61 (glob) · no commits in any repo since aa9fb24 · drift-check 65/65, CLAUDE.md 0 · REVIEWED ends at 139 · PENDING-182 unbuilt and unruled · deferral fire location.
• Not re-measured: N-now's real/mumble composition (would be a fourth hand-written classifier — OWED-6). Last split 31/28, two-prompt predicate, 2026-09-10.
• Inherited, not re-verified: everything in session-2026-09-10-the-scoping-sitting.md.
• Weak instrument result: thread-query — 5 returns, all lexical noise (diary export, 04-24 ledger, June sessions). Logged via --log; effectively null.

Each carries the §5 preamble and the rule of verbatim excerpt plus URL, fetched rather than snippet. Audit pending on return; nothing enters the report unaudited.
• 2026-09-11T — Audits of the four returns (calibration · convenience · scope).
  • Primary sources (Henle, autograph): strong. Its one miscalibration: it called the fetch tool's '2018' date invented, but the page metadata says 2018-04-01. It erred in the safe direction.
  • Recordings: strong. It caught the jurist's Tamestit misattribution; only 'you need a little delay and lift' is his, and I corrected the filed report.

The auto-mode classifier refused the rsync of CapableMind docs/thinking/David/ to the vault's thinking-mirror (an iCloud path) as data exfiltration. It was not retried by another route, since that would get round the denial's intent rather than meet it. It is surfaced to the steward to run by hand. The mirror lacks today's analysis and the six 07-27 files.
• 2026-09-11T22:16 — Return: compaction landed mid-wrap. I resumed from the summary. The docket addendum placed before the compaction was re-verified mechanically, not taken on trust: heading at L449, owned by ## PENDING-89, next ## is PENDING-90, with a control. The wrap's own pulling thread is placement, so checking placement is the least it owes.
