Opened by /wake-up into the "put the shipped footnote pre-processor to work" thread; became a very long arc across THREE jurist rulings + a full-corpus re-audit. Steward working remotely from Ravello (playing Monteverdi's *Orfeo* with Savall), on a travel machine, engaged intensively — relaying jurist briefs and rulings, deferring REVIEWED placements to Sunday 2026-07-12.

## PAST — what we did + why
|
||||
|
||||
**1. Wake + the PENDING-47 correction.** Woke, Symmetria init. Steward asked for PENDING-47's text to relay to the jurist. **Verified against substrate → PENDING-47 was CLOSED/ruled 2026-07-05 (REVIEWED-47).** My wake briefing had MISLABELED the open jurist item as "PENDING-47" — inherited a loose ledger shorthand without checking (`inherited-marker-read-as-current-state`). The real open items (REVIEWED-53): the **generalized hash-locality principle** (`graduation-spec.yaml` L29–39, marker `[awaiting ratification]`, prior relay truncated) + the **lane-rule accept/narrow**. Corrected, gave the steward both full texts to relay.

**2. §7 Jung provenance — steward authorized.** "If §7 is mine to decide, I authorize the separation with reference to the collection as the jurist agreed." Confirmed it IS the steward's (jurist held it open with an aligned per-volume lean) → per-volume files, each `source`/`source_verified`→ megavolume sha256, never posing as a standalone Bollingen edition. Drafted the §7 block for REVIEWED-54 placement (couldn't write REVIEWED.md — Constraint #1).

**3. Jurist ruling #1 — hash-locality + lane doctrine.** RATIFIED the generalized hash-locality principle (full text, all 3 instances); NARROWED "lane tracks change-class" to machine-data files only (the `.md` constitution runs on doctrinal-traceability). Closed the `graduation-spec.yaml` marker (dated, trued 2→3 instances), archived the ruling, committed **`12405a5`**, pushed on steward's "please push". **RETURN:** over-reached by bundling the push into the commit command — the auto-classifier denied it (agent-initiated default-branch push); corrected to local-commit-only, surfaced the push for steward direction (the review boundary is the *push*, not the checkpoint).

Sennett split-anchor widen (REVIEWED-54a).** Measured → root cause: the mirror pairing keys on ANCHOR ids; Sennett is a **split-anchor mirror** (note id on the `<p>` BLOCK, back-target on an empty href-less sibling `<a id="…a">` the parser didn't record). Prototyped an additive block-note pass (reciprocity via the sibling anchor co-located with the ref + marker-shaped gate); proved **294/294 verbatim-clean** end-to-end. Jurist brief → ruled FIX + **GOV-2 option (c)**: scope the per-pair dup-check to conversion-touched ids (incl. the **back-target ids** — jurist's precision), report unrelated pre-existing dups as non-blocking WARNINGS. Built into the fleet under discipline (fixture, fleet 77→80), committed **`a6828ac`**, pushed. Sennett's `cra0001002` (pre-existing non-note dup) → warning, converts clean.

Census re-audit (jurist's census-misclassification flag).** Ran the CURRENT recognizer over all 252 Chamber Sources EPUBs (`scratch/_reaudit_families.py`, `_reaudit2.py`): TOOL-COVERED 65 (59 mirror + **6 split-anchor**) · UNCOVERED 40 · NO-NOTES 92 · MEGA-SKIP 51 · ERROR 0. Structural classification + verified reciprocity (haraway = exact block-id mirror; kuhn = inner-anchor): **the UNCOVERED-40 is ONE reciprocal mirror with the id in 3 positions** (14 block-id, 6 inner-anchor, 2 letter-marker, 3 url-decode, 7 span-wrapped-other, 8 low-fn_ref false-pos) — NOT five families.

**6. Jurist ruling #3 — the generalization (REVIEWED-54b).** Brief applied the jurist's OWN reusable test part-by-part (not reflexively "PROPOSAL"). Ruled: **(a) block-id, (b) inner-anchor, (d) URL-decode = FIX** (jurist: *safer* than split-anchor — exact id-match reciprocity, not adjacency); **(c) letter-marker = FIX-with-exact-reciprocity-compensation** + a proportionate **n=3 human spot-check** (nagarjuna/plato/donne) before trusting; design ruled now, prototype-proof required AT build. Three jurist loops in one arc, and the partnership rhythm held at every one: **measure before build** (census re-audit; every recognizer structure verified against the actual XHTML, not a summary), and **apply the jurist's own test rather than reflexively over-classifying** — the generalization brief argued FIX where FIX was earned and isolated *only* the marker-gate as the guard-touching piece, with a compensation, rather than hiding a guard-loosening behind a technically-passing test. The jurist re-derived everything (checked haraway/kuhn markup, the Jung-scope logic) and rewarded the rigor. **τὸ πρόσφορον governed the close:** rather than cram (b) inner-anchor + (c) letter-marker (the fiddly id-relocation + marker-gate) into a long session's tail where a subtle id-slip nicks the verbatim guarantee, landed the proven (a)+(d) as a complete unit and deferred the delicate parts to a fresh pass.
