Basic Memory v0.21.6 first sync over the live memory dir (steward-authorized live-dir trial, Option A 2026-06-06): adds permalink: to frontmatter, refolds long YAML description lines, strips final newlines. Bodies untouched — verified via full diff classification. From this commit forward, any diff in claude/memory shows only what Basic Memory or the session writes. Trial design: MemPalace untouched as incumbent; git status check on this dir at every wrap; end-of-day evaluation (recall quality, sync robustness, rebuild-from-files, malformed-file behavior). ## Skills to Design (flagged 2026-04-05)
|
|
|
|
**Why:** Both patterns recur every session. Manual execution is error-prone (27-file drift found tonight). Formalizing as skills prevents silent rot.
|
|
|
|
### 1. Vault Sync Skill (`/vault-sync`)
|
|
|
|
Syncs `CapableMind-AI/docs/thinking/David/` → Obsidian vault thinking-mirror. Should:
|
|
- Diff source vs mirror, copy missing files preserving directory structure
|
|
- Report what was copied (count + list)
|
|
- Optionally update modified files (flag for confirmation — Obsidian edits could diverge)
|
|
- Handle iCloud path correctly (spaces in path)
|
|
|
|
### 2. Session Wrap-up Skill (`/wrap-up`)
|
|
|
|
End-of-session protocol. Should:
|
|
- Update session handoff memory file (what happened, decisions, open threads, next actions)
|
|
- Sync vault (invoke /vault-sync)
|
|
- Check for uncommitted work across active repos (CapableMind-AI, BetterMemories.io, chamber-library, animal-davidglidden-eu)
|
|
- Check for unpushed commits
|
|
- Flag any PENDING.md items that need steward attention
|
|
- Update MEMORY.md index if new memory files were created
|
|
|
|
**How to apply:** Design these as proper skills (hooks or slash commands) in the next session. Reference the existing `/vault-update-people` skill as a template. |
