Steward caught that the session was filed 'evening' at 13:29. Root cause is larger than the label: every ISO timestamp in today's Symmetria ledger was inferred from narrative position, never read from date(1). 14:10 was 40min in the future; the prior session's 13:30/13:50 entries were written at mtime 11:35. Values annotated rather than silently corrected (unrecoverable); order remains reliable. Skill defect harvested: symmetria §4 specifies the timestamp FORMAT and not its SOURCE. Also: chamber-grounding directive (constitution+charter+runbook) recorded as standing feedback; honest census of where the Chamber vision actually lives (seven sources, not one). **Steward, 2026-07-28 (evening):** *"I hope the overarching vision of what we aspire the chamber to become is in one place and queryable."*
|
||
|
||
**It is not.** Assembling it in one session required seven sources across two repos and the memory layer — and one of them was behind a **dead pointer** in `MEMORY.md` that had been firing at the wake for four sessions.
|
||
|

## What exists ONLY in a session record (i.e. is not queryable at all)
|
||
|
||
Two maps drawn 2026-07-28, living in `session-2026-07-28-evening-…` and nowhere else:
|

1. **The boundedness gradient**, intimate → vast: mark · voice · chavruta · Table ⟨**the seam**⟩ release · library · ARC · generic instrument · dead/living/unborn. Finding: **boundedness changes *kind*, not strength**, and the seam falls exactly where the June dialogue put it — below it a machine settles the claim, above it only *visibility* is available.

||
2. **The convocation ladder** — the axis is **who convokes**: the question · the steward · **the exchange** (rung 3, the frontier) · **the corpus** (commentators · editors/lexis · genealogy). Finding: **rungs 4–6 are epistemically safer than rung 3**, because corpus-driven convocation is traceable to the marks ⇒ build order **2 → (4,5,6) → 3**, after which an emergent summons can be required to *cite its reason for summoning*.

|
||
Plus the steward's own additions that turn out to be one mechanism facing two ways: **bibliography-as-convocation** (*what works did this author use?*) and **gap → acquisition** (*what can no voice here reach?*) — summon what is on the shelves, acquire what is not.

||
|
||
## What a single queryable home would have to hold
|
||
|
||
Origin/telos · the lineage · the epistemic thesis (answerable-not-pure; the seam) · the three cognitions · the two maps above · the register list the steward named (*thinking tool, research assistant, editor, mentor, friend, listener, guide*) and its resolution (**the engine is not the friend; it is the ligature that makes the friendship honest**) · the versioning frame · the empirical record.

||
|
||
**Not yet proposed as a document** — naming the gap first, deliberately, since the failure mode here is composing a grand synthesis that becomes a ninth scattered source. Any such document must **supersede** its sources or point at them, never sit beside them.
