Basic Memory v0.21.6 first sync over the live memory dir (steward-authorized live-dir trial, Option A 2026-06-06): adds permalink: to frontmatter, refolds long YAML description lines, strips final newlines. Bodies untouched — verified via full diff classification. From this commit forward, any diff in claude/memory shows only what Basic Memory or the session writes. Trial design: MemPalace untouched as incumbent; git status check on this dir at every wrap; end-of-day evaluation (recall quality, sync robustness, rebuild-from-files, malformed-file behavior). The steward shared 2026-04-27 (after archival of `data/lexica/` which contained Derrida / Laffoley / Warburg lexicons from the UCE-CIE era): *"the lexica were meant as keyword libraries for semantic analysis, but what I wanted to do was impossible along that path. I still want to do some Laffoley analysis with you one day since he had a particular genius that I would like to mine (Like Warburg too, but we have done some work on the Atlas for L2 — to be picked up more seriously one day, but for a writing project)."*

**Why:** Twofold context. (1) The retired `data/lexica/` files (now archived at `data/archive-v1/lexica/`) were attempts at machine-readable keyword libraries for semantic analysis — *"what I wanted to do was impossible along that path."* The approach didn't yield what the steward sought. (2) The intent to engage Laffoley and Warburg analytically remains, but as **writing projects**, not as glyph-generation pipelines.

**How to apply:**
|
|
|
|
- **Laffoley** — future intention: *"some Laffoley analysis with you one day"*; *"a particular genius that I would like to mine."* Form not yet specified. When this surfaces in a future session, treat it as the steward's analytical-writing project — cousin to the lex-method work in posture (gathering, registrar, dialogue). Follow steward's lead on shape.

- **Warburg** — existing work on the *Mnemosyne Atlas* has already been started in the L2 (constitutional governance) context. To be picked up more seriously one day as a writing project. The archived `warburg-mnemosyne.yaml` lexicon at `data/archive-v1/lexica/` is **not the substrate** for that future work; the writing project will engage Warburg directly. Cross-reference: the rubric-lineage research 2026-04-27 morning surfaced Warburg's *Pathosformel* / *Bilderatlas* / *Mnemosyne* vocabulary as adjacent to ARC's apparatus thinking.

|
- **Distinguish past from future** — the `data/lexica/` era was the steward *"trying to do everything through elaborate js"* (UCE-CIE design phase). The future work is writing-project shape. Don't conflate the two; don't propose reviving the lexica/glyph path. The genius in these figures is mineable through writing, not through keyword-tagging.

|
- Not load-bearing for current ARC work. Surface only when the steward names them directly, or when adjacent reference (e.g., Warburg invoked in another typographic / archival context) makes it useful to flag them as in-scope-someday.

|
|
