# Cluster scaffolds — six remaining clusters of the immediate sheaf

**Origin:** 2026-04-26 chamber-library walk, then steward-authorized scaffolding pass.

**Steward framing (verbatim):** *"Wallace Steven's jar on the hill. Hic. Maybe I want to pull on the Bachelard as framing for the humic layer thread also... to be honest, I don't know where to start."*

The scaffold is the placement that organizes the wilderness around it. It does not author the cluster; it gives the next dialogue a *Hic* — *here* — to gather around.

**Posture:** Voices below are *present in chamber-library and touching the cluster's register*. They are not recognitions. They are not pillar-assignments. The lex-method places recognition inside dialogue with the steward, not inside the registrar's walk. Each cluster will deepen — these scaffolds give us a place to start, deepenable with additional works as the gather opens.

**Housekeeping note:** Anything outside `chamber-library/converted_texts/` (the top-level `derrida/`, `Jaccottet:Handke:Lichtenberg/`, `observer-problem-sources/` folders) is simply unfiled-recent material per steward 2026-04-26, not architectural separation. File-locations below should be read as current placements, not commitments.

*Where rhythm, duration, silence-between-notes, ensemble-listening, and the bar-line meet measure as ethical-aesthetic question. The conductor's downbeat. The held note. The tempo as discipline.*

## The Bachelard pull (steward-flagged 2026-04-26)

Steward (verbatim): *"Maybe I want to pull on the Bachelard as framing for the humic layer thread also."*

Bachelard's six chamber-library works in `phenomenology/`:
- *La poétique de l'espace* — house, cellar, root, nest, drawer, corner — the spatial substrate of dwelling
- *La poétique de la rêverie* — the reverie as way of knowing
- *La dialectique de la durée* — duration, rhythm, instant
- *L'air et les songes — essai sur l'imagination du mouvement* — air-imagination
- *La terre et les rêveries de la volonté — essai sur l'imagination de la matière 1948* — earth-imagination, the rooted, the underground
- *La psychanalyse du feu* — fire-imagination

Why the pull is real: Bachelard's matter-imagination cycle is *literally* about the underground, the cellar, the rooted-house, the elemental dwelling. He is one of the few voices for whom *humic* is a native register, not a metaphor extension. The framing the steward has been using ("humic layer," "a priori underground" via Harrison) may be less metaphor and more Bachelardian than I had been treating. Bachelard could be substrate for the humic-layer *framing itself* — one cluster up from any single content cluster — or substrate primarily for `practice-across-life` and/or `music-and-measure`. The recognition belongs to the steward.

Every cluster has multiple registers; traditions can address each other across distances; the cross-cultural seams (Vico ↔ Confucius on tradition; Levinas ↔ Buddhist śūnyatā; Weil ↔ Dogen on attention; Bachelard ↔ Yunkaporta on ground) are already populated, not aspirational.

## What this scaffold is not

- Not recognitions. Recognition belongs to dialogue.
- Not pillar-assignments. The steward maps voices to clusters in the gather.
- Not exhaustive. Several cluster-natural voices are not yet visible in the walk and may warrant grepping or sourcing (Beckett, Wittgenstein, Pessoa, Pirsig, Crawford, Pavese, Pavese, Pascal — flagged inline above).
- Not a snapshot of authoritative library state. Catalogues are stale; for current state, walk the trees (`feedback-catalogues-stale-walk-trees.md`).

The scaffold is a *Hic* — a placing — to give the next dialogue gather-points to organize around. The wilderness will surround the hill on its own.
