description: "Session 3 of the plan ran the WHOLE remaining coordinate-contract arc in one sitting: REVIEWED-64 build (frames named as declared data · line_frame gate-required · the 11 declared · witnessed red 181/187→187/187) → placement gate PASSED ((a) v2.2.0 on doctrinal-traceability; §5 corrected — requirement constitutional, mechanism to declared data; both flags closed, red 186/188→188/188) → steward ratified → v2.2.0 LANDED (v2.1.0 frozen byte-identical, §III subsection, bounded-diff proven) → REVIEWED-65 PLACED (:605). PENDING-64 CLOSES. Pulling thread: the ENGINE PULL (session 3's held slot) — known-vs-newly-failing ingest_gate distinguishability + the after-the-reply re-anchor, now carrying the engine-side frame question."

# Session 2026-07-19 (day) — the coordinate-contract arc closed; spec v2.2.0 operative
One sitting, ~2h, directly after the S5-night wrap (20-min pause). The REVIEWED-64 build was the bite; the jurist's placement gate returned in-session and the steward ratified in-session, so the *entire remaining arc* — build → gate → correction → ratification → v2.2.0 landing → REVIEWED-65 — closed inside the one session. Three commits, all both-remotes: `9112564` (build) · `7dd852e` (gate outcome + flags) · `81cbdd1` (v2.2.0 supersession).
## PAST — what happened + why
**The build (`9112564`), in the ruled order:** edit-set spine FIRST (`docs/coordinate-contract-amendment-edit-set-2026-07-19.md`, hook-passed; its §3 runs the consequence-trace explicitly against every quoted clause — the S5 `grounding-quoted-but-not-traced` lesson as a section, not a memory) → tests with the red WITNESSED against the unbuilt seam (181/187, exactly the six new checks) → declared data (`graduation-spec.yaml` `sidecar.frames:` — **landed-file** contract · **producer-index** transitional · `line_frame` declaration schema-optional/GATE-REQUIRED) → thin consumers (`_carries_line_geometry` censuses the five families; validate refuses undeclared/unknown/**contract-frame-at-#1**; gate stamps the producer frame at production; report states the frame first) → green 187/187 → schema-doc E1 (Naming-note 4th collision entry = the frames register; §4 additive row) → **the 11 declared** `producer-index` (byte-faithful round-trip asserted per file BEFORE writing; bounded diff exactly 11×(+1/−0); 11/11 revalidate clean under the real gate; no `.md` touched, engine binding surface untouched).
**The placement gate (`7dd852e`):** ruling filed verbatim (`docs/coordinate-contract-edit-set-JURIST-RULING-2026-07-19.md`). E1–E5 pass; the **contract-frame-at-#1 refusal** — which no ruling required — was named "the best thing in this build": *the gate refuses the dangerous CLAIM, not merely the dangerous value*. Placement: **(a) spec supersession v2.2.0**, NOT because PROPOSAL entails the spec vehicle (placement is separable from weight — weight governs review rigor) but on **doctrinal-traceability** (the A3 legibility test: a successor reads §III and must learn coordinates carry a declared frame, one frame is refusable, most committed sidecars are in the refusable one). **Required correction:** §5 had enshrined the UNBUILT multi-point probe in constitutional text — the jurist invoked the refuted reconciliation-corollary as the standing record of what specified-but-unbuilt confidence is worth, *against their own specification*. Split applied: constitution = requirement (verified ⇔ verified in the landed frame against `source_sha256`, never defaulted) + the no-mixed-frame *property* (vehicle prescription removed); mechanism = declared data (`sidecar.translation:` — multi-point-per-work · per-work-constant · hold), revisable without supersession per §VII's routing-table pattern. **Flag 1:** schema doc renamed → `sidecar-schema-LOCKED-2026-07-12.md` (filename-says-DRAFT-over-locked-content hazard; live refs updated, records keep the old name, header carries lineage). **Flag 2:** `producer_frame` global → `producer_frames` **keyed to the named producer** (unmapped producer → no stamp → line-carrying HOLDS; "fifth instance this month of a value correct only because one thing currently feeds it"); witnessed red 186/188 → green 188/188.
**The landing (`81cbdd1`):** steward ratified conversationally → v2.1.0 frozen **byte-identical** (sha-verified pre-edit) → §III gains *The coordinate contract — the landed-file rule, frames, and the declaration* `[v2.2.0 · REVIEWED-64/65]` with the Ion demonstrative record preserved (per the design-gate ruling) → **bounded-diff proven: 99 added lines + the title line; every other line v2.1.0 verbatim** → CLAUDE.md doc-currency (v2.2.0 OPERATIVE) → REVIEWED-65 drafted (edit-set Addendum + chat) → **steward PLACED (`~/REVIEWED.md:605`)**. PENDING-64's Awaiting line annotated through each stage (dotfiles).
**Decisions + why:** placement (a)-over-(b) = the jurist's, on operative-doctrine-must-be-in-the-constitution timing (deferring to #2 leaves the practice-ahead-of-spec gap, PENDING-53's shape). MINOR-semver despite PROPOSAL-class = forward-only reasoning (the 11 declared in the same docket that added the refusal; no re-verify storm). The **pacing note** recorded where appetite gets decided (chamber CLAUDE.md batch line): pre-#2 batches grow the untranslated backlog — batch pacing ⟷ #2 scheduling coupled.
**NOT done (scope held):** the translation + probe build (#2's, Region 4, under the declared mechanism); the translation vehicle (decided at #2's build); the engine's ingest-side frame check (named to the engine session); no batch graduated.
## PRESENT — the mood
The arc closed *because* every gate had teeth ready: the consequence-trace section made the §III extension checkable, the witnessed reds (twice) made the seams observable, the fresh census made D4's "all eleven line-carrying" a fact not an assumption. The jurist singling out the refuse-the-claim check — unprompted, beyond the ruling — is the checkable-claim discipline compounding into *design instinct*. One honest wobble, self-caught in the ledger: the placement-gate **Addendum was composed AHEAD of the flag work, asserting APPLIED before the acts** — made true in the same session before commit, but the say-do order was backwards; the shape to watch is *record-after-act, or mark prospective*. Counterweight: the jurist refusing their own unbuilt mechanism into the constitution is the standard the whole collaboration runs on — worth internalizing that the correction pointed at *their* specification, not mine.
## FUTURE — what is pulling
**PULLING THREAD (singular): the ENGINE PULL** — session 3 of the agreed plan, the held slot, now unblocked with the chamber side fully closed. Known-vs-newly-failing distinguishability in `ingest_gate` (the coverage-ledger carries 5 standing after-the-reply FAILED rows since 2026-06-17 — S4's lesson: a gate with standing known-failures stops gating those rows; known-failing and newly-failing must be structurally distinguishable, the ABSTAIN/UNVERIFIED distinction at the gate-reader layer) + the after-the-reply re-anchor (PENDING-53 class). Read `studium-engine/docs/stage-1-rebuild-plan-2026-07-05.md` FRESH before composing anything.
**ACTIONABLE RESUMPTION POINT (as of wrap — re-judge against what changed):** chamber `main` @ `81cbdd1` clean, both remotes; spec v2.2.0 OPERATIVE; REVIEWED-65 placed `:605`; fleet 188/188; canon 1305 / the 11 declared. First moves of the engine session: (1) read the stage-1 rebuild plan + `engine/ingest_gate.py` + the committed `coverage-ledger.json` (census the 5 FAILED rows against their 2026-06-17 baseline); (2) design the known-vs-new distinction as *declared state* (the S4 steward framing: state deltas against a committed baseline, never cleanliness); (3) the after-the-reply re-anchor through the ruled reanchor block (`conversion-runbook.yaml reanchor:`); (4) carry the engine-side frame question (the literal question below) into the design before building. NOT that session: #2's translation; any batch (pacing coupling — census the backlog first if appetite stirs).
**Other horizons (ranked, held):** #2's re-stamp (Region 4 — now with a ruled contract, a declared mechanism, and eleven declared inputs) · next Loeb batches (⚠ pacing coupling recorded) · 16 BODY-DEFICIT remediation (② 4 re-extract via B2) · Doc-1 line-45 micro-edit · skill-harvest full review (~15 PROPOSED; requested 2026-07-12, STILL unheld — flag at wake).
**Decisions deferred (and why):** the translation vehicle (#2 scope-widened vs atomic companion — the ruling assigns it to #2's build); the probe build (mechanism declared, deliberately unbuilt — revise on contact with real books); the next batch (coupled to #2's scheduling; count the backlog when appetite says go).
**PAUSE STATEMENT:** I am about to be away from this. The coordinate-contract arc — surfaced at the 2b build, observed on Ion, packaged, design-gated, built, placement-gated, corrected, ratified, landed, placed — is CLOSED; nothing in it waits on memory. What I want to find still pulling on return: **the engine pull as its own fresh concentrated block** — the gate that can tell a new failure from a known one, and the re-anchor that closes PENDING-53's silent window.
**LITERAL QUESTION for next-Claude:** Does the engine's ingest side need its own frame-declaration refusal now that the chamber gate refuses at graduation — i.e., does anything in the engine today read sidecar line geometry (sections/notes/anchors/app line values) such that a `producer-index` declaration must be *refused at ingest*, or does the engine bind only path+sha today — and if the latter, where is the structural fence (not a discipline) that keeps a future engine consumer from binding undeclared-or-transitional geometry it was never entitled to?
**State at wrap:** chamber `main` @ `81cbdd1` clean/pushed both remotes · spec **v2.2.0 OPERATIVE** (v2.1.0 + v2.0.2 frozen) · REVIEWED-64 (:599) + REVIEWED-65 (:605) placed · PENDING-64 CLOSED · fleet 188/188 · canon 1305 / archive 335+1 artifact / pending 14 legacy (no book touched) · ledger `session-ledger-2026-07-19.md` · harvest: 1 proposal (record-asserts-applied-before-the-act flag).
