Basic Memory v0.21.6 first sync over the live memory dir (steward-authorized live-dir trial, Option A 2026-06-06): adds permalink: to frontmatter, refolds long YAML description lines, strips final newlines. Bodies untouched — verified via full diff classification. From this commit forward, any diff in claude/memory shows only what Basic Memory or the session writes. Trial design: MemPalace untouched as incumbent; git status check on this dir at every wrap; end-of-day evaluation (recall quality, sync robustness, rebuild-from-files, malformed-file behavior). | External research practice | David does landscape research on external tools/projects with Claude Code. Studies go in thinking/David/research/ with date-prefixed filenames, source links, and CapableMind relevance assessment. | feedback | 662625c1-73a8-4f3d-a7f1-4ed16a33864c | claude-memory/research-practice |
External research studies (evaluating open-source tools, frameworks, agent architectures) go in CapableMind-AI/docs/thinking/David/research/ with date-prefixed filenames (e.g., 2026-04-09-hermes-agent-study.md).
Why: David is increasingly doing landscape scanning to inform CapableMind design decisions. These studies need a permanent home that's discoverable alongside other thinking documents, not ephemeral session notes.
How to apply: When David asks to look at external projects, produce a study note in the research folder. Include: source URL, what it is, key findings with file references, CapableMind relevance assessment, and items noted for future study. The "What Goes Where" table in thinking/David/CLAUDE.md has been updated to include this folder.
